Summer worship (in effect Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend) services are held on Sunday mornings -- 8:00 a.m. casual worship in the coffee house, 9:15 a.m. traditional worship in the Sanctuary and 10:45 a.m. contemporary worship in the Fellowship Hall. Summer Wednesday services are held once a month downtown at Town Square. We gather at 5:15 for a meal, followed by worship. Weather permitting, we will worship downtown on the following Wednesdays: June 18, July 16, August 20. Fall/ winter/spring services on Sunday mornings (9:15 and 10:45 a.m.) in the Sanctuary for those who are accustomed to the traditional language of the Lutheran church. Worship in the sanctuary is experienced in a playful, imaginative, and lively manner as we discover the newness of our tradition for contemporary life. Music is also an important part of the traditional worship service. "Wednesday at the Well" worship (fall, winter, spring) is held at 6:15 p.m. in the Sanctuary preceded by a light supper at 5:15 p.m. in the Narthex. Simultaneously, during the fall, winter and spring, on the south end of Calvary we have two contemporary services (9:15 and 10:45 a.m.) that explore worship in an interactive way through drama and contemporary music within a rather fluid atmosphere. This contemporary setting continues to grow as it offers a unique way people might express their faith. Nursery care is available during worship and for many other church activities. Calvary's nursery is staffed by caring adults and older teens. The nursery is a cheerful place stocked with plenty of toys, books and children's movies. If you have questions about the nursery, contact the nursery supervisor, MaryAnn Soderberg.
Worship-filled experiences can be found in the nooks and crannies of the many rooms of Calvary. Worship is the centerpiece of life here, and we continue to search for new ways to express our faith and to worship as we work. |
