At Calvary, we believe the Bible changes lives. We take the Bible seriously as the norm for our faith and life, but we also appreciate the complex challenge of interpreting its message for our world today. As Lutherans, the Bible is central to our thinking about God, and we encourage all to read it for themselves. We also find that, while the Bible is the most truthful book ever, its truth often comes with ambiguity and complexity—since there are things about God we cannot know—and from considering the whole of the Bible’s story. As a Book of Faith congregation, we use resources from both the ELCA and elsewhere to foster and facilitate engagement with the living Word of God.
