By Heart : Conversations with Luther’s Small Catechism

This year we are marking the 500th anniversary of the Reformation!  “By Heart: Conversations with Luther’s Small Catechism.” For those of you who are fairly new to the Lutheran faith, this is a great opportunity to get the foundation of how Lutherans understand the basics of our faith. And for all of those life-long Lutherans out there who studied the Small Catechism in your youth, it may be time to revisit these basics again as we never outgrow or cease to be tutored by The Lord’s prayer, the Apostles Creed,  the 10 Commandments and the essence of the sacraments.

This unit on the Small Catechism will be six sessions and will be offered at the following times:

  • Sundays at 10:30am in the Sanctuary beginning September 17

  • Mondays at at 6:30pm (with Pastor Kristen – Nursery care provided) beginning September 18

  • Wednesdays at 11am in Room 10 (with Pastor Sonja), beginning September 20

New Member Orientation

Interested in becoming a member of Calvary? Are you wondering what church membership means? .

Join us for New Member Orientation on September 24 in our Fellowship Hall (Contemporary Worship space) located on the south end of the building. We will have a light lunch and learn about all things Calvary beginning at 11:45  a.m. Meet other new members, learn more about Calvary’s ministry and meet a few staff, with an optional tour of the church to follow. Children are welcome, and child care in the nursery will be provided.

New members will be received at Calvary on Sunday, October 1, by public acknowledgement in all three worship services, as well as the service held on Wednesday October 4.

Any questions about Calvary or church membership? Feel free to contact the church office by emailing place4u@calvarygf.org or by calling 701-772-4897.
