Middle School 1/2 & 1/2 Weekends

This summer, we are offering 2 opportunities to get away from Grand Forks and enjoy a weekend of 1/2 play and 1/2 service.

Both times we will depart on Friday afternoon around 4:00 and will be home Sunday between 1:00 and 2:00.

One weekend is $75 and includes everything except spending money. Sign up for both and pay only $100 ($50 discount).

Weekend 1 ~ June 28-30:

Twin Cities, MN ~ Feed My Starving Children and Valley Fair

Weekend 2 ~ August 2-4:

Duluth, MN ~ Loaves & Fishes and Canal Park (and other local attractions)

Power-Packed Pentecost Picnic
Sunday, May 19, 12:00 – 2:00
Sherlock Park (Castle Park) in East Grand Forks

Happy Birthday, Church!!!
All children in grades K -2 are invited to partake in a “Power-Packed Pentecost Picnic.”

Please join us at Sherlock Park (Castle Park in East Grand Forks) for an interactive telling of the story of Pentecost, kite-flying on or near the dike (pray for the Holy Spirit to blow),
a game or two, playing at the park, and a picnic lunch!

This event will be held Sunday, May 19th from 12:00-2:00 p.m. (meet at the park)

Tot Time Summer Fun…

Come for Bible learning and play for infants, toddlers, and 2′s and 3′s not yet in Sunday School.

June 3-5 from 9:15 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

Cost is $6 per child or $10 per family.

Parent/care provider must accompany children.

Third GF Feed My Starving Children Pack Reaches 1,000,000 meal goal!

The third annual Feed My Starving Children Mobile Pack event was held in April of 2013. More than 400,000 meals were packed this year, taking our three year total to over 1,000,000 meals! Powerful worship leader/musician, Chris Tomlin, will be at the Fargodome on Tuesday, April 16 at 7:00 on his Burning Lights Tour.

Calvary has reserved 20 seats for this incredible event.

Cost is $35 for your ticket only, or $45 for your ticket and transportation to and from Fargo (for those wishing to travel together, we will load at Calvary at 5:00 p.m.)

This year’s youth auction event, “Working Together,” will be held on SUNDAY, APRIL 21 starting at 5:00 p.m.

Come for an evening of great food, live music, a live auction, and wonderful fellowship to support our high school students and adult leaders who will be traveling to Raleigh County, West Virginia (Appalachia) on this summer’s mission trip!

Tickets are $10 and available in the church office, through the youth going…or you can sign up and pay ONLINE (click Register).

Childcare will be provided.

Ethiopia Mission Team

Our team traveling to Ethiopia departs on Friday, April 5th. They will be in country from April 7th – 13th and will be sharing the love of Christ with our brothers and sisters in and around the capital city of Addis Ababa. While there, they will serve the following:

Hope for the Hopeless Shelter (a shelter for children ages 10+)
Hope for the Hopeless Orphanage (a shelter where kids are sent when they have no family to be found)
Entoto Mountain (a ministry that helps women with HIV by teaching them to make beautiful jewelry to provide income)
Korah Community (a trash dump where many people live in extreme poverty)
Mission Ethiopia (a mission that provides jewelry making jobs for women)
Project 61
A day in the countryside to see where their guide grew up and to share love with the people who live there.
A day on the other side of Korah, where they do not receive support.
