Calvary’s education ministry provides opportunities for youth to grow in their faith. God calls us to reach out and teach each other.

Sunday School Teacher Orientation

Thursday, September 9, 6:45-8:00 p.m. All Sunday school teachers are encouraged to attend this important meeting.  We'll gather in the Fellowship Hall.

Registration for the following is necessary:

Sunday School Classes -- at 9:15 and 10:45 a.m. for youth ages 3 years (by August 31, 2010) through 5th grade.

Confirmation Classes -- at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evenings for 6th - 9th grades.

Your completed registration forms are necessary to finish the class lists for Sunday School and the small groups for Confirmation. Please stop by the church office (Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.) and complete the form. Complete the form and return to the church office.

Sunday School Volunteers Needed! 

Prayerfully consider sharing your time and faith with Calvary’s young people. Volunteer to teach Sunday School. Be a substitute teacher; help with music or mission projects. Call Jackie at 772-4897 or email to jackie.sprios@calvarygf.org and say, “I’d like to help!” Our goal by September 1 is to have all the classes equipped with teachers and helpers.

Confirmation Small Group Guides Needed!
Are you willing to be involved with the faith journey of our young people? Are you willing to share Wednesday nights with a small group of boys or girls? We need one or two adults for every eight students in each grade. Call Jackie at 772-4897 or email to jackie.spiros@calvarygf.org. Serving God as a faith mentor is a wonderful experience.

Confirmation classes begin in September
The first session/orientation will be on Wednesday, September 8, for all 6-9 graders and their parents.  If you have not registered for confirmation classes, please stop by the church office to complete the form or print a registration form from the Calvary website. Students will not be put into small groups until they are registered.

Confirmation Retreat for 6-8 grades is on the calendar for September 24-26. Put these dates on your calendar too! Join your friends for a great weekend at the Castaway Club near Detroit Lakes, MN. Watch for a postcard with all the details.

Collecting School Kit Items for Mission Blitz Sunday, September 26 Lutheran World Relief School Kits Getting new school supplies is exciting for all children. For children affected by war, disasters, famine and poverty, a SCHOOL KIT can send a sign of God’s love. When you are school shopping in the upcoming weeks, consider buying an extra item or two to help children around the world. Each SCHOOL KIT contains the following items: 8 1/2 x 11 inch ruled notebook 1 blunt scissors 1 - 30 centimeter/12 inch ruler 1 - pencil sharpener 6 - new #2 pencils with erasers 1 box of 16 or 24 crayons 1 - 2 1/2 inch eraser Bring any of these items to church or Sunday School in August and September.
