Knitting/Crocheting Group

We will meet Saturday, September 18, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon in the church library.

  • Patterns available
  • Learn about our Prayer Shawl Ministry
  • Or just come and and work on your own projects
  • New knitters welcome -- supplies and very patient teacher available

Sewing Club

Bring your handicrafts and join the Sewing Club in the Library on Thursday, September 2 and September 16. We start at 1:30 p.m. and continue until ... We have no set agenda, just an enjoyable afternoon of relaxing and fellowship.

September Book Club

The book club continues to meet over the summer.  Anyone and everyone is welcome to join--come to just one discussion or join us each month!  The group meets in Holy Grounds at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 20.  We are reading Winter Garden.

Calvary Holy Land Trip:  2011-2012

In light of people's interests, Calvary is planning a 10-day, educational and inspirational trip to Israel, with an optional 5-day extension to Egypt, for February 2012.  The cost (for Israel trip) is roughly $3000 per traveler.  We welcome your input, questions and ideas as we finalize details.  For more information please contact Pastor Troy or Van Larson.

Do you like to cook? Have a favorite dish to make? Like to try new recipes? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, please consider signing up to be on the hospitality meal team which provides meals for families welcoming a child into their home.

Passion 2011 is in Atlanta, GA, December 31 - January 4

Passion is a great event for college students with POWERFUL worship and good speakers, an amazing DO SOMETHING NOW center. To learn more about the event go to www.268generation.com. Cost will be approx $300 + meals. Deposit of $150 secures your spot on the trip!

College Spring Break Mission Trip 2011

This trip will take us to California (we’ll travel during the spring break for UND/NDSU). More details to come as soon as our group is established! Tentative cost is $400. New Mom’s Meal Ministry

Are you or someone you know in the church expecting or adopting? Calvary offers a Mom’s Meal Ministry to provide meals for families with new children three times a week for three weeks. Expectant parents should register by calling the church office (772-4897) or e-mailing Kim Adams at kim.adams@calvarygf.org.

Families may choose to have meals soon after the arrival of their child or wait several weeks after visiting family have departed. Volunteers will take turns preparing meals and drop them off at the home.

Faith and Football:  Sunday Nights in October and November

All men are invited to a kickoff tailgating party on Sunday, October 3, at 6:00 p.m. in Calvary’s east parking lot, followed by faith conversation using Tony Dungy’s Dare to Be Uncommon study, and afterward Sunday night football (Bears vs. NY Giants) projected on the Fellowship Hall big screen. Tailgating munchies (dogs, chips, soda, beans) provided for a freewill offering. Study guides available in the church office ($9); no commitment necessary to attend.
