What Is The Bible : Summer Book Study

Calvary Summer Reading Groups

Why should people actually read the Bible?

Isn’t it outdated? Primitive? Full of fairy Tales? Too difficult to read? Legalistic? Boring?

In fact, the Bible is a library of stories, poems, and letters dealing with loss and anger and transcendence and family and worry and empire and money and fear and stress and joy and doubt and grace and healing, and who doesn’t want to talk about those?

The Bible is about what it means to be human,  creatures caught up in the cosmic plans of a great Creator.

Rob Bell has written a very accessible, provocative and even entertaining book that will help you see the Bible in a whole new way, even if you’ve never  opened the Bible before. We want to read and discuss it together this summer in small groups. Find one that works for you! No experience necessary!
